About Caregiving

Family Caregivers assist loved ones with physical or mental disabilities, chronic illnesses or other frailties by looking after their physical, mental, social and psychological needs.

Many people do not see themselves as family caregivers even though they are giving their time and energy to help the loved one manage their activities of daily living.

Family Caregivers are a diverse group including:

  • Seniors
  • Adult Children
  • Parents
  • Spouses
  • Nieces and Nephews
  • Relatives
  • Friends
  • Neighbours
  • Holocaust Survivors
  • New Immigrants

Do you assist a loved one with any of the following?

  • Purchasing, supervising or administering medication
  • Paying bills and  managing other finances
  • Transportation
  • Shopping
  • Food preparation
  • Financial support
  • Personal hygiene and care
  • Arranging for care services
  • Managing legal issues
  • Overseeing medical appointments
  • Emotional support
  • Daily check-ins

If you assist a family member with any of the above tasks, we will support you. Visit our Services Information page to learn more.

Thank you.
